Congratulations to NWDTC student Ann-Charlott Timander, from the Health & Wellbeing pathway at Lancaster, who has passed her viva.

Ann-Charlott’s title was ‘The Reclaiming and (Re) construction of Positive Identities in the Recovery Process by Women and Men with Experience of Long Term Mental Distress: A Comparative Study’: Gothenburg, Sweden and Oxford, England.

She was researching experiences of mental distress, oppression and recovery from a British disability studies perspective, comparing the experience of participants from Oxford to those from Gothenburg, Sweden.

Ann-Charlott is now an affiliated researcher at Ersta Sköndal University College in Sweden, and is pursuing post-doctoral funding while disseminating the results of her PhD research.
