Research Training Support Grant

All NWDTC students have access to a Research Training Support Grant (RTSG), which can be used for a number of research related purposes including conference attendance, UK fieldwork and the purchase of books or other key resources. The process for claiming expenses is outlined below:

Overseas Fieldwork Funding

NWDTC Students have the opportunity to apply for overseas Fieldwork funding during their PhD. Eligibility rules apply. Competitions run biannually in October and April.

Overseas Institutional Visits

NWDTC students have the opportunity to apply for financial support to go to overseas Universities or esteemed research organisations in the interest of network building and research dissemination. Eligibility rules apply. Competitions run biannually in October and April.

Internship Scheme
Interdisciplinary Fund

There are funds available for DTC Students who want to arrange their own interdisciplinary events/activities.

Cross-institutional Opportunities

The NWDTC enables the exchange of expertise across the three constituent Universities, to allow students to make the most of what the North West has to offer in terms of training and support.

NWDTC students can benefit from co-supervision by experts from the partner institutions:
